Article Processing Charges

Article Processing Charges (APC)

JMISIP charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD $1,000 upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication. This fee supports the costs of editorial management, peer review coordination, typesetting, and permanent open access hosting, ensuring that all published articles remain freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription barriers.

Submission itself is always free of charge. The APC applies only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and been formally accepted for publication — authors are never charged to submit or during the review process.

Fee Waivers and Discounts

JMISIP is committed to ensuring that the ability to pay does not determine the ability to publish. Discounts of up to 90% on the standard APC are available for authors from low- and middle-income countries, subject to approval.

  • Discount eligibility is generally guided by the World Bank country income classifications and/or the Research4Life (HINARI) country list.
  • Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may also consider individual financial hardship, lack of institutional funding, or independent researcher status, regardless of country.
  • Waiver/discount decisions are made independently of, and have no influence on, editorial or peer review decisions. Requests are handled by editorial/administrative staff separate from those making acceptance decisions.

To apply for a fee waiver or discount, authors should submit a request at the time of manuscript submission (or promptly upon acceptance) via: APPLY FOR APC WAIVER →
