Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy

Definition and Commitment

JMISIP is a fully open access journal. All content is made freely, permanently, and immediately available online to any reader, anywhere in the world, without registration, subscription, or payment.

Immediate and Unrestricted Access

There is no embargo period on any article. Articles are openly accessible from the moment of publication, in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access.

Licensing

All published articles are distributed under CC BY 4.0 — see the Copyright & Licensing page for full detail.

No Subscription Model

This journal does not operate a subscription model and does not offer a hybrid (partially paywalled) publishing option. Every accepted article is published open access under the same terms.

Funding Open Access Publication

Open access is supported through the journal's Article Processing Charge (APC), payable only upon acceptance, never at submission. Fee waivers/discounts of up to 90% are available — see the Article Processing Charges page. Ability to pay never influences editorial decisions.

Compliance with Funder and Institutional Mandates

Because all articles are published under CC BY 4.0 with no embargo, publication satisfies the requirements of most major research funders and institutional mandates, including Plan S–aligned funders.

Author Self-Archiving

Because the journal provides immediate, permanent open access, formal embargoes do not apply. Authors are free to deposit any version of their manuscript in institutional or subject repositories at any time.

Preservation of Open Access Content

Open access is safeguarded independently of the journal's continued operation through the measures described in the Digital Archiving Policy.

Why This Journal Is Committed to Open Access

JMISIP's open access model reflects its core mission: ensuring research on machine intelligence, sustainability, and management reaches the widest possible audience of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers who can act on its findings.
